How it works
We come to your school
Summit Institute works with a large number of secondary schools to support careers advisors and leaders. Each school completes an MOU with Summit Institute for each course, which allows our trained and experienced team to teach your students in your school.
- Agree an MOU. We create a new MOU for each course.
- We deliver the course in your school, in one or two days.
- Students complete the course evaluation form.
- Your school enters the credits on each student's Record of Learning within 10 days using Summit Institute's NZQA provider number, lets students know their results, and pays the NZQA per-credit fees.

Terms and conditions of service
Each school agrees to the following.
The school will
- Make sure all students complete a post-course evaluation within 24 hours of the course finishing, before credits are entered, using the online form at bit.ly/summitstudenteval. This is an NZQA requirement for all Summit Institute courses.
- Enter results for successful students within ten working days of Summit Institute providing their names, and pay the NZQA fees for loading credits on their Record of Learning.
- Permit Summit Institute to take photos and/or videos during courses for Workforce Development Council and/or NZQA moderation purposes. These are never used for promotion or public sharing without permission.
Delivery, cancellation and payment
- All work is carried out with care and due diligence by qualified, authorised and certified Summit Institute trainers. Summit Institute and the relevant Workforce Development Council and/or NZQA manage all internal and external moderation.
- Enrolments can be cancelled or changed without penalty up to ten working days before the course starts. After that, payment is due in full.
- Pricing is based on a minimum of 15 and a maximum of 30 learners per course.
- Invoices are due by the 20th of the month after the course. Overdue accounts may be charged interest of 3% per month.
Full MOU terms
Should a difference need resolving, student outcomes will remain the focus of discussions, and both parties agree to meet with an approved mediator from the New Zealand Dispute Resolution Centre. Should this MOU be cancelled, termination will take effect after all students related to this MOU complete their agreed course of study and have received their appropriate credits.
The purchaser acknowledges that the services referred to in this agreement are for business use, and the purchaser (school) agrees that the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 will not apply to this agreement.
This MOU ends once Summit Institute returns the result record and the invoice is paid in full. Results should be received within ten working days of the course, when the school is given the names of students who have achieved the unit standard(s).
